The Colorado Springs Philharmonic will honor philanthropist and long-time symphony supporter, John Street during the 89th Birthday Cocktail Party — “Puttin’ on the Glitz,” Friday, May 20, 2016 at 6 p.m. at the Pinery at the Hill. “Years ago, the Philharmonic was really struggling and was in serious need of a change, and that was when John Street stepped in with generous support and a guiding hand,” said Nathan Newbrough Philharmonic president and CEO. “Everyone knew that the Philharmonic was an essential asset to the community, but John had the business sense and the passion needed to pave the way forward. Since his first job as an accountant with Arthur Andersen & Co., this award-winning entrepreneur has built three businesses garnering Inc. 500 status.
