Azaduhi Vieira

Azaduhi Vieira, violin, was born in Bulgaria where she began her music education at the age of seven. Three years later she was accepted in Dobri Hristov School of the Arts in her hometown of Varna. In 1994, Azi immigrated to Long Island, New York, completing high school while also attending the Mannes School of Music Pre-College division in Manhattan, where she graduated with honors in 1997. While studying with Dr. Chin Kim at Mannes, she performed in Carnegie Hall with the Gemini Youth Symphony Orchestra, as well as giving numerous solo performances in Steinway Hall and other performing venues in the Manhattan and Long Island areas. In 2002 she completed her Bachelor of Music degree in Violin Performance at Louisiana State University where she studied with Professor Kevork Mardirossian. While a student at LSU, Azi was a member of the first violin sections of the Baton Rouge Symphony and Acadiana Symphony Orchestras.

In 2002, she won a position in the second violin section of the Colorado Springs Symphony Orchestra, and in 2003 she won a position in the Boulder Philharmonic. Azi was a student of Professor Oswald Lehnert at the University of Colorado at Boulder, where she completed her Master of Music degree in Violin Performance in May, 2005. During her tenure at the University of Colorado Azi was awarded the Graduate Teaching Assistantship and was a member of the Ichos String Quartet, which received First Prize in the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) National Chamber Music Competition.

In 2006, Azi won a position in the first violin section of the Colorado Springs Philharmonic. In the same year she was also appointed Concertmistress of the Colorado Springs Chamber Orchestra where she served in that position until 2008. Azi moved permanently to Colorado Springs in 2005 and since then has built her Violin Studio. She enjoys teaching children and adults and most of all, loves performing music with her wonderful colleagues at the CSPO.
