Grieg Peer Gynt

“To thine own self be true!” Peer Gynt, the classic Norwegian tale of tricksters and trolls, is brought to rip-roaring life under the baton of Josep Caballé-Domenech. Fully narrated in a new translation, this is symphonic storytelling at its finest. The Colorado Springs Chorale provides lush vocal texture for the adventure, and Brahms’ elegiac Nänie rounds out a program devoted to the deeply moving combination of orchestra and choir. The program also features a special America the Beautiful World Premiere from local composer Ofer Ben-Amots.
