VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

The magic of the Colorado Springs Philharmonic musical season doesn't happen solely with the work of staff and musicians. Dozens of generous people volunteer their time and skills to help bring the music to life.

If you would like to join our efforts to keep professional symphonic music alive and well in the Pikes Peak region, please consider volunteering at the Colorado Springs Philharmonic.

Volunteer opportunities include the following:

  • Philharmonic Office Assistance
Volunteers provide ongoing essential services for many administrative projects including:

Expediting large mailings
Contacting volunteers
General clerical work
Distribute posters to businesses
Phone work (can be done at home)

Please call the Philharmonic officeat 884-2110 if you would like to volunteer. A few hours of your time would help immensely.

The Pikes Peak Music Volunteers also help organizations in the Colorado Springs area including the Colorado Springs Philharmonic with some of the following activities:

  • Fund Raising Activities
The Philharmonic Volunteers hold special events throughout each season to raise funds for The Colorado Springs Philharmonic. These events present opportunities for volunteers to assist in various areas. This may include planning and preparation, mailings, logistics and publicity. The major fundraiser for Pikes Peak Music Volunteers is “Sunday on the Town,” co-sponsored with The Downtown Partnership. This is a great downtown event where, for a modest ticket price, the public gets free food at downtown restaurants, free music by Philharmonic musicians and free admission to downtown area museums and art galleries, usually held on a Sunday in May.
  • Listen Up Program
The Listen Up Program provides pre-concert information to elementary grade students prior to their attendance at The Young Peoples Concert (YPC). Volunteer docents, trained for their presentation by the YPC conductor, schedule visits to assigned schools the week before the concert. Presentations in the classroom focus on specific aspects of the YPC to enhance the students' concert experience.
  • Guest Transportation
Volunteers provide pick-up and drop-off transportation for Philharmonic guest artists and conductors. Transportation normally will be from Colorado Springs Airport to the guest's downtown hotel and back.
  • Usher at certain concerts
