Sarah Wilson

Cellist Sarah Wilson joined the Colorado Springs Philharmonic in fall 2013 after a 1-year appointment during the 2012-13 season. Relocating from Northwest Texas, Ms. Wilson’s former posts include principal cello of the Midland-Odessa Symphony and cellist of the Permian Basin String Quartet as well as principal and section positions in the Lubbock, Abilene, and Big Spring Symphonies.

A committed educator, Ms. Wilson is a member of the Suzuki Association of the Americas and has held adjunct professorships at University of Texas of the Permian Basin and Abilene Christian University. Ms. Wilson holds both Bachelor of Arts and Music degrees in English and Cello Performance from Oberlin College and Conservatory of Music. She holds a Master of Music in Cello Performance from Rice University Shepherd School of Music. Her principal teachers include Norman Fischer and Darrett Adkins. She has performed in masterclasses for the Juilliard and Orion String Quartets as well as for cellists Joel Krosnick and Lynn Harrell. A dog enthusiast, Sarah lives with her spoiled Vizsla, Gyorgy, who is an AKC Canine Good Citizen.
