Star Spangled Magic: A 4th of July to Remember at the Ford Amphitheater

There are some nights that stay with you—etched into memory by the music, the people, and the sense of something greater than ourselves. This year’s Star Spangled Symphony at the Ford Amphitheater was one of those nights.

The Star Spangled Symphony has been a part of Colorado Springs for over 50 years, and each summer, it brings together people from all walks of life to celebrate what unites us: music, community, and the joy of shared experience. This year was no exception. Set against the stunning backdrop of the Rocky Mountains and a sky full of stars this concert brought together families, friends, and music lovers from across the region.

This year, we were especially proud to welcome students from Harrison School District to join us onstage, a powerful reminder of how music connects generations and uplifts young talent. The evening opened with a high-energy performance from School of Rock, setting the tone for a night filled with celebration and spirit.

As the Philharmonic took the stage, the amphitheater transformed. Familiar melodies stirred memories and emotion, from patriotic favorites to the stirring 1812 Overture—a fan favorite that never fails to bring the crowd to its feet. And of course, the grand finale of fireworks lit up the sky in a breathtaking display, echoing the final notes in a moment of pure magic.

For over 50 years, the Star Spangled Symphony has been a cornerstone of our community’s Independence Day traditions, and it’s one we are honored to continue. Each year, we’re reminded that music has the power to unite, to heal, and to celebrate everything we share.

To those who joined us this year: thank you. Whether this was your first Philharmonic experience or one of many, we’re grateful to have shared this night with you.

Until next year—happy 4th of July, Colorado Springs.
