10th Music Director of the Colorado Springs Philharmonic

A violist and singer by training, Dufresne shaped her artistic impulse in the halls of Finland and Paris where she drew insights from the great names of the musical world, and formed close bonds with her fellow musical colleagues.
And now Chloé takes the stage in Colorado Springs at the helm of a great American orchestra charging toward its second century of music. In this role, maestro Dufresne is called to build bridges for new audiences which she says is “the most important and fulfilling part of my work.”
Her soul for mentorship, her beating heart for enticing young listeners was honed as assistant to Gustavo Dudamel as a Dudamel fellow at the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
Musicality may be second nature, but what sets her apart is her ability to listen deeply, to lead with empathy, and to make music that is alive with breath, with heart, and with connection to the human spirit.
As she steps onto the stage and into our community, we see in her not just a conductor, but a partner. A visionary. A fellow traveler in the journey ahead.
