The Center for Future Audiences and the Colorado Springs Philharmonic recently hosted an unforgettable evening to celebrate our 99th anniversary. The Luminous Gala took place on Thursday, April 16th, at the beautiful Hotel Polaris. Nearly 175 guests gathered in the Constellation Ballroom to support our mission of bringing world-class music to the Pikes Peak region. The evening began with a lively cocktail hour where Music Director Chloé Dufresne personally greeted VIP guests at the bar. At 7:15 PM, Theaterworks provided a delightful surprise performance of Romeo and Juliet, which even featured a humorous baguette fight. CEO Nathan Newbrough appeared in Shakespearean costume to lead guests into the main ballroom. Inside, a string quartet played as attendees enjoyed a sophisticated lounge atmosphere. The formal program began with a warm welcome from our emcee, Simone. To start the festivities, Chloé and Nathan introduced Eunike Tanzil, our new Composer in Residence. Eunike charmed the room with her “Hum me a Melody” routine before Joye Levy, Director of the Center for Future Audiences, delivered an inspiring speech. Following her remarks, the room buzzed with excitement during a high-stakes live auction. Guests bid on exclusive items, including a trip to see Chloé conduct at the Hollywood Bowl and a chance to conduct the orchestra on July 4th. Furthermore, the “Raise the Paddle” portion of the night focused directly on our community impact. Donors generously funded recorders for students, Storytime sessions, and tickets for the Philharmonic Kids concerts. Ultimately, the night was a resounding success. By the time the jazz band played the final notes at 9:30 PM, the community had shown immense support for the Colorado Springs Philharmonic. We are deeply grateful to everyone who helped us “light the night” for the future of music education. Colorado Springs Philharmonic: Center for Future Audiences
