- How the Orchestra Grew — October 30 & 31, 2019 — uncover the origins of each instrument and how composers have used their sounds in daring new ways as we reveal how the modern symphony orchestra came to be.
- Link Up: The Orchestra Sings — February 12 & 13, 2020 — a national program of Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute, pairs the Colorado Springs Philharmonic with students grades 3-5 to experience orchestral repertoire through a FREE hands-on music curriculum. Participating students explore how melodies are made, and play and sing alongside the Colorado Springs Philharmonic in a culminating, interactive concert experience.
We are proud to offer local school orchestras and bands the opportunity to play under the baton of Music Director Josep Caballé-Domenech or Associate Conductor Thomas Wilson in a school-day rehearsal. Both conductors work with young players and share their insights into the process and joys of making great music come to life.
