About the Performance

One of the most recognizable pieces of music of all time, Beethoven’s No. 9 has stood for over two hundred years as a call for unity and celebration of humanity. The first piece of its kind to feature vocal parts, the Philharmonic will present the work in full brilliance joined by over 200 choral singers. This concert also includes a very special world premiere from Eunike Tanzil, the Philharmonic’s first composer-in-residence. This performance marks a triumphant moment in the Philharmonic Centennial Season.
