Harrison District Shines at the Philharmonic

On April 12th, 2025, the Center for Future Audiences (CFA) and the Colorado Springs Philharmonic proudly welcomed nearly 100 students from Harrison School District 2 for a special evening at the Gershwin/Price concert. The night began with a bang-literally, as the Sierra High School Drumline greeted patrons outside the Pikes Peak Center with thunderous rhythms and infectious energy, creating a festive atmosphere before guests even stepped inside. Up in the Mezzanine, the Harrison High School Jazz Band set the tone with an outstanding performance by the young musicians bringing smiles to every corner of the lobby, as patrons and staff members swayed, danced, and connected through the universal language of music. Following the concert, the celebration continued in Studio Bee with Harrison’s “Night Cap” performance, featuring the Sierra High School Stallion Singers.  It was an incredible opportunity for these young singers to share their work with a wider audience. This evening wasn’t just about music-it was about investing in the next generation, building bridges between the concert hall and the classroom, and giving young perfomers a chance to shine on a stage all their own. In the week that led up to Harrison Night, the CS Philharmonic also offered MUSIC, MENTORS, AND MOMENTUM to 100s of music students at Sierra High School. Our guest conductor Kalena Bovell, led a Conductor in the Classroom session with Sierra High School’s advanced wind ensemble and A VISIT FROM CLAYTON STEPHENSON was also warmly received.  Clayton performed a special preview performance and a Q and A was led by Solid Rock Community Development Corporation’s Deborah Anderson.
