What We Believe

"Music can name the unnamable and communicate the unknowable." Leonard Bernstein

WE BELIEVE in the transformative power of live performance. That an ephemeral moment in the concert hall – where musicians and audiences unite – touches us in the present but is distinctive in how it moves us and lingers in our heart, soul, and memory. A Philharmonic performance is unique in the way it affects us personally while inspiring us collectively.

WE BELIEVE that we exist as a community and do not stand alone. Musicians and Audience.  We exist with each other and because of each other.

WE BELIEVE that a Colorado Springs Philharmonic performance has no color or creed.  It speaks to the universal – our concerts connect us through the bond of music despite our differences.

WE BELIEVE that for 97 years, the Colorado Springs Philharmonic has played an integral role in this community – overcoming obstacles with resilience, continually growing artistically, and touching the lives of our audience while remaining true to our goal of achieving the highest standards of musical excellence.

WE BELIEVE that the Colorado Springs Philharmonic will continue to be a beacon of hope and inspiration for generations to come, enriching the cultural fabric of our community and reminding us of the enduring power of music.
