First Composer-in-Residence Named
- Indonesian composer Eunike Tanzil will compose a new orchestral work inspired by the Philharmonic and the community
The Philharmonic is proud to welcome Eunike Tanzil as its first-ever Composer-in-Residence. Tanzil will create original works for the orchestra while collaborating with musicians, students, and audiences through performances, educational programs, and community engagement activities. Her appointment reflects the Philharmonic’s commitment to celebrating its legacy while investing in the future of orchestral music.
“Eunike brings a compositional voice that is at once inventive and deeply communicative. I am thrilled to welcome her into the artistic heart of this orchestra.” said Music Director Chloé Dufresne.
Honoring Two Remarkable Careers
The Philharmonic celebrates the retirements of two beloved musicians whose talent, dedication, and artistry have enriched our orchestra and community for nearly three decades.
Flutist Leslie Smith retires after 41 years with the Philharmonic.
French horn player Jennifer Doersch concludes an extraordinary 44-year tenure.
We thank them for their years of service and the countless performances that have inspired audiences throughout the Pikes Peak region.
Arts Education Leaders Unite at Symposium

The Philharmonic joined educators, arts organizations, and community leaders at the inaugural Arts Education Symposium hosted by the Cultural Office of the Pikes Peak Region. The event focused on strengthening collaboration, sharing resources, and expanding access to arts education for students throughout the region.
This gathering highlighted the growing commitment among regional organizations to work together in support of arts education. Through collaboration and shared vision, partners are helping ensure that more students have access to meaningful creative experiences both in and out of the classroom.
Maestro's Circles Travels to France
Maestro’s Circle members embarked on an unforgettable journey through France, experiencing the country’s rich history, culture, and musical traditions. From exploring the streets of Paris and Avignon to attending performances at renowned venues such as the Palais Garnier and La Seine Musicale, travelers enjoyed a unique blend of music, art, and fellowship.
One of the highlights of the trip was traveling to Avignon to attend a performance conducted by Music Director Chloé Dufresne, offering a special opportunity to see her artistry on display in her home country.

This spring, the Center for Future Audiences continued to bring music beyond the concert hall, creating memorable experiences for students, families, and communities across the Pikes Peak region.
