Alberto Gutierrez, Artistic Advisor
Based in Denver, Colorado, Alberto Gutierrez is the general manager of the Colorado Music Festival, located in Boulder, Colorado. He has served as artistic advisor to the Colorado Springs Philharmonic since 2010. With over 25 years of experience working with symphony orchestras, he has held positions as varied as vice president of artistic administration with the Colorado Symphony, general manager of the Memphis Symphony Orchestra, and in operations positions with the Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra, and the San Antonio and Portland symphony orchestras. Alberto started out in the field at the League of American Orchestras where he managed the Youth Orchestra Division and the Music Assistance Fund, a scholarship program for aspiring orchestral musicians of African American descent.
Alberto studied trumpet at the University of Oklahoma where he earned a bachelor’s degree, and furthered his training at the Cleveland Institute of Music and the Catholic University of America. He also performed at the Music Academy of the West and the Tanglewood Institute of Music festivals.
