Lynn Holladay
Sr. Vice President and COO

What a remarkable time for the Philharmonic. From our 99th season celebration raising $76,000 for the Center for Future Audiences to students learning side-by-side with our conductors, this season continues to show what is possible when music and community come together.

In this issue, you’ll see the many ways that impact is taking shape—from honoring an outstanding music educator to spotlighting student talent and sharing stories that extend beyond the concert hall.

99 Years, One Bright Night

  • More than 175 patron and community members gather to celebrate 99 years of the Philharmonic
  • $76,000 raised for the Center for Future Audiences

At Luminous on April 16, the Philharmonic celebrated 99 years of music and artistry in an evening focused on connection, community, and what comes next. Guests gathered for a cocktail hour with Music Director Chloé Dufresne, a lively Romeo and Juliet performance by Theatreworks, and music by Philharmonic musicians. A highlight of the evening was the surprise announcement of the Philharmonic’s first Composer in Residence, Eunike Tanzil. Through the evening’s call to “light their light,” guests helped raise more than $76,000 for the Center for Future Audiences and its education programs.

District 11 Shines for District Spotlight Day

Conservatory Partnership Shines

From Podium to Classroom

  • Four in-school visits with student ensembles
  • Mentorship from Philharmonic conductors

Philharmonic conductors brought music directly into classrooms, working side-by-side with student musicians across the region. Conductors including Michelle Di Russo, Thomas Wilson, and Music Director Chloé Dufresne engaged students at multiple levels, offering real-time feedback, sharing professional insight, and even stepping onto the podium alongside young performers.

These visits created meaningful connections between the classroom and the concert hall, giving students a firsthand look at the artistry, discipline, and collaboration behind live orchestral music while reinforcing the Philharmonic’s commitment to education and access.

The July 4th Star Spangled Symphony Performance has been postponed. Please check the event page for additional information.
