Edward Scissorhands

About the Performance

Experience a Tim Burton and Danny Elfman collaboration that remains one of the most beloved fables in modern cinema — and one of the most personal scores Elfman has ever written. Relive the story of the gentle, scissor-handed inventor (Johnny Depp, in his first of many roles for Burton) dropped into a world of pastel houses and picket fences, on the big screen exactly as audiences first saw it — while the Philharmonic performs Elfman’s swooning, music-box score live, note for note, underneath. It’s a fairy tale about longing to belong, told the way it was always meant to be heard: in the dark, together, with an orchestra breathing life into every scissor-snip and snowfall.
